Jürg Rotmann, born 1963 in Zurich, Switzerland, came to the martial arts at the age of 15 – after having played icehockey for 7 years.

He started with Shotokan Karate in 1978, went on to Ti Kün Do Karate and then he took up Shorin Ryu Karate with his teacher Yaw Hwa Chin until 1986.

From 1987 on Jürg Rotmann began with Chan Shaolin Si Kung Fu under the supervision of his Sifus Serdal Erdek and Hakan Erdek. Soon he started to assist his Sifu to teach the students. To understand more about the martial arts and to see different styles, Jürg Rotmann started to travel to other countries like Germany, Turkey and Malaysia.

In 1992 he arrived in Bangkok, Thailand. He tried to find a school in Chinatown but missed, was then eventually successful in the northern part of the country, close to the Burmese border. In Chiang Mai he found master Kherliang, a representative of his own family style in Tibetan Dragon Kung Fu.
From then on Jürg Rotmann was living in Chiang Mai for nearly 5 years.

He was studying Tibetan Kung Fu daily in his master`s home and in the rain forest , where he put the wooden stumps into the ground to practice the famous footwork pattern on top of it.

Jürg Rotmann was also studying Qi Gong and Taijiquan in Chiang Mai. Since 1992 he learnt Traditional Thai Massage at the Old Medicine Hospital and 1995 he learnt from his second teacher, Aree Sanyaluck, and started to be an assistant at her school.

Jürg Rotmann opened his first own school in 1997 in Zurich, Switzerland. He is teaching Tibetan Kung Fu for children and adults and Qi Gong.
